To split your screen into two parts first you have to enable split-screen service from the app. This app creates dual windows on your phone screen so you can do multitasking. I've also tried on some different Macs with slight version variations.If you want to work with two different apps at the same time then you can do it using the Easy split screen : Multi Window.
I have Aquamacs 3.2 and macOS Sierra 10.2.3. I suppose I can hunt through the source code to find out how to change this, but I hope I can ask for help at Ask Different. Unlike a lot of user actions in Aquamacs, typing control-H control-K before the double click does not give me help on the action.
